West Africa gives in to the intransigence of military regimes. The Economic Community of West African States has lifted economic sanctions targeting Niger, as well as lighter ones against Mali.

The decision has provoked questions and comments for a week. For an organization which, not long ago, was intoning martial speeches, threatening Niger with a military operation if constitutional order was not restored, the turnaround is complete. It remains that the ministers in exile from the government of Mohamed Bazoum, invited during the coup, remain in exile.
