The Verdi union has called for warning strikes at around a dozen airports in Germany this Thursday. The airport association ADV expects around 1,100 flight cancellations or delays.

Around 200,000 passengers are affected, as the association announced on Wednesday. Lufthansa called on its own passengers via its app on Wednesday not to come to Frankfurt, Hamburg, Bremen, Berlin, Leipzig, Dresden and Erfurt airports because boarding there was not possible. The union is demanding a flat-rate increase in hourly wages of 280 euros.
