The Minister of Culture and Sport attacked the decision of the Football Association Tribunal, which would prevent the team from playing in Europe. "The punishment given to Beitar Jerusalem does not represent sporting values, the team won the cup and therefore deserves to play in Europe," Miki Zohar said.

"Collective punishment is not the solution. This decision has to change, otherwise there is no value in winning on the field," he added. "As I've always said, fan behavior should have no bearing on the players and coach who won the game," he said.
