Russian gymnasts Dina and Arina Avrina announce their retirement from the sport at the age of 25. The sisters are mainly remembered for the stormy loss to Linoi Ashram in Tokyo 2020.

"This is very sad news, I want to cry," said the president of the Russian Artistic Gymnastics Association Irina Viner. Last December, the sisters admitted that retirement was definitely on the agenda, and in the past they even compromised the continuation of their careers by deciding to allow Russia to compete in the 2024 Olympics.
