Miki Zohar announced that he will run for mayor of Kiryat Gat. He will step down from his position as director of the Ministry of Culture and Sport.
"I have no doubt that the citizens of Israel will enjoy the fruits of my hard work," he said. "Sport and culture are an inseparable part of my life," he added, "and I am looking forward to the future" "I will continue to work for the betterment of the country," he concluded, "even though I am leaving my position"
