[HIGHLIGHTS] Football: the hometown of Dani Alves, convicted of rape, considers dismantling the statue of the player

Dani Alves was found guilty of rape and received four and a half years in prison. The former FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player was born in Juazeiro, Brazil.

Residents of the city are calling for the statue of the player to be removed. The City Council is studying the matter and will make a decision on February 22, 2024. Alves is one of the most successful footballers in the world with 43 trophies in his career. He played for Sevilla, Barcelona and PSG before returning to Brazil.
