Although Alves appealed the decision taken by a court in Barcelona, the crime shook the inhabitants of the Brazilian city.
The image of the former FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player has been more than damaged by this legal case, and some of the 250,000 Brazilian residents are lobbying for the statue to be dismantled and no longer one of the symbols of the city, according to information from Marca.
