Peitinger's cross-country skiing talent can hope for World Cup medals in Planica. Heiland recently won the classic 20-kilometer Continental Cup in the Czech Republic.
The 22-year-old plays for SC Partenkirchen and made his debut in the World Cup in Goms, Switzerland last weekend. The Peitinger took 63rd place out of 76 finishers in the mass start race over 20 kilometers in the free technique. The best German was Friedrich Moch (39:39) in fifth place.
