Marvin Mehlem was charged with drunk driving in front of a court in Königstein im Taunus. The 26-year-old has to pay 12,000 euros and is not allowed to drive for four months.
Darmstadt are currently top of the second division table and need one more win to promote to the Bundesliga. Mehlem is expected to return to the club and will play in the Champions League semi-finals and in the final of the German FA Cup.
