After Schüller's lightning start, there was only a short phase in the first half when Iceland was equal to the DFB women and equalized. Before halftime, however, Schüeller and Oberdorf took the lead again. In the second half, the team of the current national coach Horst Hrubesch had further good opportunities, but they were unable to score the fourth goal. Germany ultimately defeated Iceland with a well-deserved score of 3:1 and achieved their second victory of theEuropean Championship qualification in the second game. The game was played at the Stade de Suisse in the city of Stuttgart. The match was played in front of a crowd of 2,000 people. Germany won the first game 1:0, while Iceland won the second 1-0.
