FIFA announced that the 2026 World Cup final will be held in New Jersey, at the "Met Life" stadium, which mainly hosts football games in the NFL league. The stadium, located about five kilometers from New York City, has a capacity of 82,500 spectators and is currently home to the NFL's New York Giants and New York Jets.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino announced the details in a video alongside American comedian Kevin Hart. It will be the third time Mexico has hosted the men's tournament, the second for the U.S. and the first for Canada.
