Francis Angano lost to Anthony Joshua in a high-profile fight held in Saudi Arabia. Joshua is a veteran boxer, holding the world champion belts, and in fact he had no difficulty against Angano, taking him down three times with punches, until the knockout in the second round.
Ryan Garcia, the American-Mexican world champion, wrote, "This should be a big warning to all MMA fighters!!! Stop coming to boxing," he wrote. Even after the loss, Angano was greatly appreciated by sports fans, when Joshua told him "for me you are still a hero, don't stop".
