Three riders fell heavily this Thursday during the 4th stage of the Tour of the Basque Country. The riders fell in a downhill turn around thirty kilometers from the finish and skidded towards the side of the road before hitting blocks of stone and a concrete drain.
Note that the riders were hospitalized and that the teams of Visma-Lease a bike and Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step) abandoned. The images are chilling. The race was initially neutralized before being restarted.
