Kazuki Anaguchi, a 23-year-old Japanese, lost a fight to the veteran Seiya Tsutsumi. After the bell that signaled the end of the fight, he began to show signs of a concussion and was quickly taken to the hospital.

He underwent brain surgery to stop a hemorrhage that began to accumulate in the dura membrane, one of the membranes responsible for protecting the brain. The boxer did not wake up and remained on the floor for 38 days, until he died of his wounds.
