Since April 1, Germany has restricted the consumption of recreational cannabis only for German residents. As part of this legalization measure, only adult German residents can grow up to three cannabis plants at home for strictly personal use.

The law allows consumers to carry up to 25g on their person in the street and up to 50g at home per month. “The authorities have decided to establish a framework to allow smokers to have better quality cannabis,” explains Léa Jamet, lawyer at the European Consumer Center in Kehl.
