"No Other Land" won the award for the best documentary film at the Berlin Film Festival. The film was co-produced without Israeli funding, but several of its producers are Israeli.

Parts of the area where the villagers of Safar Yata live are considered fire ground, and for decades the local residents have been fighting against evictions. The main prize of the festival, the Golden Bear, was won by another documentary film, "Dahomey" by the French-Senegalese director Mathie Diop.
