A 96-year-old resident of a nursing home in Aix-en-Provence died on Friday, a week after being attacked by his 93- year-old roommate. The perpetrator of the beating was reportedly irritated by the repeated cries of the nonagenarian with whom he shared his room.
An autopsy was ordered “in order to establish the causes of death and the existence or not of a causal link between the violence and the death of this person,” said prosecutor Jean-Luc Blachon.
