Amsterdam-Detroit flight forced to turn around after maggots fall on passengers. The mishap seems to be linked to the presence of a spoiled fish in a passenger's suitcase.

The plane returned to the gate and passengers were redirected to the next available flights. The aircraft has been removed from the fleet for cleaning, Delta Airlines said in a statement. As compensation, the passengers received 8,000 miles each. For those who had to spend an extra night in Amsterdam, the company offered them a hotel night as well as a meal for 30 dollars, approximately 28 euros.
