An investigation was opened after the death of an infant of around three weeks old whose blood showed traces of cocaine. The 38-year-old mother was interviewed by investigators and the possibility of contamination through breastfeeding is being considered.

Analysis of the infant’s blood revealed the presence of cocaine in his metabolism, said the prosecutor. The possibility of a forced seizure seems to have been ruled out. The investigation established that the mother had used cocaine in the past. The results are expected at the end of next week, according to the prosecution.
