The bill on the new highway code has begun its parliamentary process. The changes mainly concern driving while intoxicated and after taking drugs.

The bill will also introduce greater specifications on ZTL areas, rules for the safety of railway level crossings and stricter rules for prohibited parking. For new drivers, the ban on driving supercars will increase from one to three years, while minors found driving drunk or on drugs will not be able to get a license until they are 24 years old.
