Gard firefighters rescued a horse that fell into a well near Alès on Friday morning. Informed around 8 a.m., the rescuers were surprised to discover on site that only the animal's head was protruding from the hole.

With the help of the Gard firefighters' animal unit, the equine was strapped in and then pulled out of the well where it had been stuck for several hours. Still stunned by his mishap, the poor animal had to be examined by a veterinarian.
