An unusual intervention.
Gard firefighters rescued a horse that fell into a well near Alès on Friday morning, according to our colleagues from France 3.
Informed around 8 a.m., the rescuers were surprised to discover on site that only the animal's head was protruding from the hole.
With the help of the Gard firefighters' animal unit, the equine was strapped in and then pulled out of the well where it had been stuck for several hours.
The operation mobilized around ten firefighters and three emergency vehicles for three hours.
Still stunned by his mishap, the poor animal had to be examined by a veterinarian.
