Andorra la Vella escaped the worst on Sunday March 31, when a 180-ton rock broke away from the Pyrenees. National television, RTVA, published spectacular images of the landslide which fortunately did not cause any injuries or significant material damage.

The municipality clarified late Monday that “the area in which the landslide (had) occurred” was “secure”. Work is underway to build a dike intended to protect the capital of the principality of Andorra and its 22,000 inhabitants.
