Dara, an Iranian singer currently living in Los Angeles in the United States, surprised his 560,000 followers on Instagram when he posted a perfect, accent-free Hebrew rendition of Naomi Shemer's classic. Dara is accompanied by a piano player and along with posting the song on Instagram, he also added a number of hashtags such as "Am Yisrael Chai", "Shalom" and "Israelis" Many surfers, including Israelis, thanked Dara for the beautiful performance and many saw him as a support for Israel.
