In 1966, Naomi Shemer sang the song with the girl group "The Shemer Sisters".
And the recording of the song was shelved with the rest of the band's recordings.
It wasn't until 1968 that the song became famous when performed by the Nahal Hevi team, on its program "Kema Tov", as a duet by Ofira Gluska and Tsila Dagan. The accordion player of the opening section in the well-known performance by the Nahal Hevi team is Reuven Tsuman, a member of the team.
Later on, the song was performed by many other artists, and according to Acom data, it has over 120 different versions.
