Nearly 140 passengers confined aboard cruise ship due to gastroenteritis outbreak. So far, 123 passengers and 16 crew members have reported being affected by the disease.
Sick people were isolated from the rest of the passengers in order to prevent any spread of the epidemic. The origin of the virus is unknown. According to the agency, 14 outbreaks have occurred on cruise ships in 2023, most blamed on norovirus. The Queen Victoria departed from Southampton, England on January 11 and is scheduled to arrive in Hawaii on February 12.
