Tesla Model S was stolen in downtown Los Angeles on March 28. Police chased it until the battery ran out.
Suspect was arrested in the middle of the street in the 4600 block of Melrose Avenue. The range of the Model S is only 15 miles (approx. 24 km) Police considered using a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver to bring the vehicle to a standstill. The LAPD did not release any details Friday morning about the chase. The suspect has not been identified.
