Sometimes patience is the path to success. This is how a car chase in LA ended because a Tesla battery died. The officers wanted to stop him by force.

Every good Hollywood action blockbuster also includes a high-speed chase with powerful cars. But reality is often less dramatic than in the “Fast and Furious” film series. There are exceptions, such as a 13-year-old who escapes in his parents' car. In Lemay, Missouri, a man tried to escape with a flat tire. A chase in Los Angeles recently ended no less strangely.

reported. The electric car belonged to Susan Hirasuna, an anchor and reporter for Fox 11.

Police want to arrest stolen Tesla for reckless driving

As she explained to the news station, she parked the Tesla Model S near the United Theater in downtown Los Angeles on March 28. There the presenter attended a nearby concert. When she returned to her vehicle, she discovered that the Tesla had been stolen.

Before she could file a report, Los Angeles Police Department patrol officers attempted to stop the vehicle for reckless driving. There had previously been complaints from other road users. Officials even considered stopping the electric car with a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) maneuver. The attempt is to turn the vehicle through 180 degrees and thus bring it to a standstill.

Only 24 kilometers of range: Police wait until Tesla runs out of juice

Hirasuna was able to follow live where the stolen Tesla was going on her Tesla app. There the presenter also saw that the range of the Model S was only 15 miles (approx. 24 km). The LAPD officers only had to follow the stolen vehicle until the battery ran out.
