A man was arrested in Louvroil (North) and placed in police custody after purchasing products whose assembly could be used to manufacture homemade explosives. The search led to “the discovery of 5 kg of potassium nitrate’, as well as “500 g of ground powdered sulfur and coal’.

The suspect, aged 21, of French nationality, was known to the courts “for two common law offences”, a police source said. The hand of a 13-year-old boy was torn off in Caen (Calvados) while handling such products.
