A man was arrested in Louvroil (North) and placed in police custody after purchasing products whose assembly could be used to manufacture homemade explosives, a police source said on Wednesday.
Following a report "issued by the Amazon platform concerning the purchase of a product used in the composition of homemade explosives" a system was put in place "with a view to arresting the suspect with the assistance of the Raid,” said this source.
“The accused, aged 21, of French nationality”, known to the courts “for two common law offences”, was arrested this Tuesday at 6:05 a.m., she said.
The search led to “the discovery of 5 kg of potassium nitrate”, as well as “500 g of ground powdered sulfur and coal”, “the assembly of these materials which could be used in the manufacture of homemade explosive products”, a she added.
