A motorist and his passenger were arrested in Villeurbanne (Rhône) after injuring several police officers following a refusal to comply. The two men were first spotted on the ring road in a car identified as stolen.

The motorist, aged 21 and known to the police, does not hold a driving license. On their way, the motorist encounters a police vehicle coming in the opposite direction and hits it at full speed. This car then crashed into another, parked just behind so as to create a barrier. Nine police officers were in these vehicles, and several of them were injured. Three were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
