The chase could have ended very badly.
During the night from Friday to Saturday, a motorist and his passenger were arrested in Villeurbanne (Rhône) after injuring several police officers following a refusal to comply, report our colleagues from Le Progrès and BFMTV.
The two men were first spotted on the ring road in a car identified as stolen.
The police ask them to stop, which they refuse.
A chase then begins in the towns of Vaulx-en-Velin and Villeurbanne between the fugitives and the police.
Three police officers transferred to hospital
On their way, the motorist encounters a police vehicle coming in the opposite direction and hits it at full speed.
This car then crashed into another, parked just behind so as to create a barrier.
Nine police officers were in these vehicles, and several of them were injured.
Three of them were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The two men were finally arrested and taken into police custody.
The motorist, aged 21 and known to the police, does not hold a driving license.
