Tata opens electric car battery factory in UK. The $5 billion plant will be Tata's first so-called gigafactory outside India.

The 40 GWh factory will be built at the Gravity Smart Campus in Bridgwater. The factory is expected to create up to 4,000 green technology jobs in the area, with "many thousands" more expected to be created indirectly, Agratas said in a statement.  Construction will be carried out in several phases, with battery production expected to begin in 2026.
