Israel Railways completed the upgrade of the signaling system all over the country to electronic, which will make for a safer and more efficient train service. The change will make it possible to drive 17 trains per hour on the Ayalon route instead of 14/Reuven Castro.

The system, which was purchased from Elstom at an additional cost of 186 million shekels, will allow for the reduction of the safety margins between the trains. However, this project will also be completed late: when it was announced, the train talked about its completion in 2023, and it will not be ready until 2025.
