The Italian government is trying to encourage Chinese manufacturers to open new car factories on its territory. The Italians claim that the Stelantis group, owner of Fiat and Peugeot, is taking work out of the country to factories in other countries.

The Italian Minister of Industry, Adolfo Orso, revealed at a hearing in the Parliament in Rome that the government is holding talks with three Chinese manufacturers and with Tesla. Tesla already has a factory in Germany, near Berlin, that produces the Model Y for the European market, including Israel.
