Since the beginning of 2024, 33 people have already been killed in traffic accidents on Israeli roads, a further increase of 6%, after a 3% increase in 2023. Less than 50% of the students receive road safety training as part of the 12th shift.
In the previous school year, about 19% of approved classes did not receive training, even though they were approved. The main factor for the partial training is the dismal state of the Zahab system in the police which includes only 13 designated standards and another 149 police officers who perform Zahab training which is not the core of their job.
