Manufacturers are bringing more and more affordable electric cars onto the market. The trend towards affordable entry-level models continues. Four models are planned from the VW Group alone. The federal government's goal of 15 million electric vehicles by 2030 is probably no longer achievable. Inexpensive electric cars could possibly cushion this trend somewhat and get more customers excited about e-mobility. The last time the difference was below 20 percent was in February 2023.
