(ANSA) - MILAN, DECEMBER 11 - The mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, has asked for "excuse and forgiveness" from the whole city to the family of Giuseppe Pinelli, the anarchic railway worker unjustly involved in the investigation of the PiazzaFontana massacre and who died falling from a window of the Milan police headquarters a few days after the explosion. "My presence here has above all the meaning of apologizing and forgiveness of the city for what it was" said Sala during the planting of a tree dedicated to Pinelli in the district of San Siro, in which the two daughters Silvia and Claudia participated. "We also make a promise, that is like Milan we will continue to be what we are. Milan is trying to leave a deep political and social sign".
That tragedy - added Sala - "should not have happened, also because Pinelli was one of the citizens who worked and became politically committed".
