New dates for the event, to anticipate Art Geneve by a week, a main section and three sections curated by invitation and set-ups in the new pavilions, on the 18th and 15th of BolognaFiere accessible from the north entrance, "spectacular from an architectural point of view and modern - as the artistic director Simone Menegoi described them - a location that will contribute to the success of the 44th edition of Arte Fiera ". These are just some of the novelties of the 44th edition of the International Modern and Contemporary Art Fair presented this morning in the Bologna exhibition center. Today the preview by invitation, from tomorrow to Sunday you can discover the works of 345 artists presented by 155 Italian and foreign galleries: 108 will be in the main section and 47 others in the invitation ones or 'Photography and moving images', curated by the collective Fantom is dedicated to research in the field of photographs and videos; 'Focus', signed by the art historian Cherubini and dedicated to the artistic research of the first half of the twentieth century and of the second post-war period and 'Painting XXI'. "This last section - explained Menegoi - is the most important novelty of Arte Fiera 2020. It is dedicated to the medium of painting, to contemporary painting and is an unprecedented setting for an Italian or foreign fair. The aim of this project , curated by Davide Ferri, is to offer an overview of the work of emerging artists. A proposal in line with the current moment that has brought painting back to the center of the art scene ". The main section of Arte Fiera reconfirms the model chosen for the last edition: the galleries were invited to present a limited number of artists, up to three, for medium-sized stands, up to six for larger ones. A further novelty for the 2020 event is the possibility of overcoming the roof of the six artists with a curatorial project dedicated to a group, an artistic movement or a movement of the twentieth century. The protagonist galleries of the event will compete for the awarding of prizes while the 'Public program' offer reconfirms the 2019 edition formats, including 'Oplà. Performing activites', the live arts program curated by Silvia Fanti, is' Flash Art 'a cycle of conversations on contemporary art. The collaboration with Fico Eataly World Bologna has also been renewed: guests of Arte Fiera 2020 will be able to taste and buy typical products of the regional territory. "We are satisfied with the protagonists, with the program of events and initiatives and with the fittings - added the president of BolognaFiere Gianpiero Calzolari - we are investing heavily in this event: it is improving in the appreciation of the gallery owners and, with the collateral events in the city, it is becoming also a popular event open also to those who are a simple lover of beautiful things ". Among the events connected to Arte Fiera there is also the art week of Art City Bologna, the program of events promoted by the Municipality of Bologna: the program which also includes the white night scheduled for Saturday is very rich.
