(ANSA) - CAIRO, APRIL 3 - The economic loss estimated by the Libyan oil and gas company Noc following the closures of eterminal oil pipelines imposed by General Khalifa Haftar in his campaign for the conquest of Tripoli is almost reaching four billion dollars. The estimate of $ 3.89 billion in losses accrued since January 17 was posted on the NOC Facebook page yesterday, just before the first anniversary of the launch of the attack on Tripoli on April 4 last year. Following the blockade, production fell from 1.22 million to 93 thousand barrels per day, according to a table published by the national oil company.
This is enormous damage if you consider that the annual GDP amounts to 56.3 billion dollars, according to data from the World Bank processed in 2019 by the Trading Economics website.
