The Ministry of Health of the Nation reported this Saturday that in the last 24 hours there were 44 deaths from coronavirus, while 2,590 new cases were identified.

Thus, the total of the deceased amounted to 1,481 , while the number of those infected jumped to 75,376.

This morning, the health authorities reported that since Friday night, 16 new deaths were identified: 6 men and 4 women residing in the province of Buenos Aires, 3 men and 2 women from the Federal Capital and a man from Neuquén.

At the head of the daily report issued by the health authority to account for the epidemiological situation, the Secretary of Access to Health, Carla Vizzotti, noted that 93% of people served in critical care units are in City sanitariums and the province of Buenos Aires.

The index that measures the amount of infected detected on the tests carried out yesterday was 38% national average, with a positivity of 41.7% in the City, 45% in the Metropolitan region of the province of Buenos Aires, and 18.3% in the rest of the country.

"The third stage of antibody studies of people who circulate in public transport ended yesterday; 405 were performed at the Once train terminal and there were 11 positives. If we compare it with April and May when 2,610 tests were performed with 10 positives , which gave a 2.5% positivity, we see that today it quintupled from the other test ", explained Vizzotti.

Vizzotti confirmed that a contingent will travel to Chaco, with two assistant experts from the Ministry of Health and the President to see the progress of the epidemiology work and the control of Covid-19 cases.

On Friday 8,951 new samples were made and since the beginning of the outbreak 390,382 diagnostic tests were carried out for this disease, which is equivalent to 8,603 samples per million inhabitants.

The number of cases discarded until Friday is 250,545 (per laboratory and per clinical (epidemiological) criterion, and the main age groups affected by the registered cases correspond to people between 20 and 59 years of age, the average age being 36 years.
