Following a publication in Israel Today on delays in transmitting results of laboratory tests to the elderly in nursing homes, a solution is emerging.

The intervention of Health Ministry Director-General Prof. Hezi Levy and Deputy Minister Yoav Kish, and after obtaining legal approvals, will enable the direct transfer of answers on the corona examinations directly from the laboratory to the nursing homes themselves and sampled workers. This process is also expected to prevent unnecessary delays. A cellphone that will allow you to return to work for patients who are found to be negative.

Last week, we announced that there was a delay in delivering the results of the corona tests to the sensitive population of elderly people in nursing homes, who need increased protection against corona virus in institutions. And some of the nursing homes, when the elderly families were sometimes updated, but the administrators did not receive any updates.

Another reason for the delays was in MyHeritage labs, which perform about 4,000 tests a day for nursing homes, but their decryption capability is only about 3,000 tests a day. For example, at Bethlehem's Nursing Home in Petah Tikva, where there are seven positive patients, complain that the time to the results of the lab was extended from three days to six days. The institution's management complained about the matter to the Ministry of Health.

Eric, whose 92-year-old grandmother is admitted to the institution, warned that "The Department of Health is acting as if the first wave did not make nursing homes the death of senior citizens. Why does it take four days to get a corona test? Have they arrived in full? " As we have published, the Ramla institution also delayed five days in obtaining the laboratory results.
