(ANSA) - SAN MARCO IN LAMIS (FOGGIA), AUGUST 18 - A cannabis crop consisting of 5,100 plants was seized by the Guardia di Finanza in Bosco Rosso, between the municipalities of San Nicandro and San Marco in Lamis, in the Foggia area.
According to a calculation by the financiers, it would have been possible to obtain 1.9 million doses from the seized plants, which would have yielded 9.4 million euros.
In the agricultural area, the military arrested a Romanian intent on tending plants and armed with a pistol with an abraded serial number.
During the search of a country cottage where the man lived, the financiers found three Foggia people and reported them, considering them to be the guardians of the plantation.
The farm, fenced with barbed wire, was surrounded by dense vegetation, on two sides by ferns and on the other two by a forest near a hill.
In the cottage there was also the book "The Innominable Mafia" by the former chief prosecutor of Lucera Domenico Seccia, one of the first texts that recounted the mafia phenomenon in the Gargano.
