Many parents expect the second installment of the Corona child bonus in October.
But is the second partial payment made to the affected families automatic?
Since September 7th, the family benefits have been paying out a child bonus * with the child benefit.

child benefit

the money to arrive on their account
from Monday

When the first payment of 200 euros will be transferred to you, the parents concerned can easily
read off
the
last digit of the child benefit number
.
Another 100 euros will follow in October.
The bonus for affected parents is part of the economic stimulus package, which is intended to stimulate consumption again after the corona lockdown.

The federal government has decided on a one-time child benefit
bonus to
provide financial relief for families who are
entitled
to child benefit in times of the coronavirus pandemic.
Families with low and medium incomes should benefit in particular, as the one-off benefit of 300 euros is not offset against other family or social benefits

In the case of tax,
however
, the
bonus payment
is offset against the child allowances, which means that higher incomes ultimately have nothing from the special payment, as zeit.de informs.
"I hope the families will use the additional money for something that will bring joy to the children or the entire family", quoted Zeit Family Minister Franziska Giffey.
The payment of the
Corona child bonus is
due to start
on September 7th
.
The sum of 300 euros will be paid out in two installments: in September it will be 200 euros, in October the remaining 100 euros will be transferred.
In total, the federal government will take around 4.3 billion euros for the one-time benefit for families
, according to the current estimate.

You can find out when you can expect the first payment from the final digit of your child benefit number.
A zero means that you will receive 200 euros on September 7th.
Numbers ending with 1 to 9 have to be patient for a while, but the first installment of the
Corona child benefit should
also be transferred in the course of September.
“This is a welcome injection of finance for many families.
Especially in families who have to turn over every euro, the child bonus makes the decision a little easier to buy something for the children or to do something together, ”said SPD politician and Federal Family Minister Giffey.
This would also boost the economy - which is sorely needed in times of the current coronavirus pandemic.
