(ANSA) - ROME, OCTOBER 16 - Inflation remains negative in September for the fifth consecutive month, but Istat revises its preliminary estimate downwards: in the month it is estimated that the index of consumer prices for the entire community ( Nic), gross of tobaccos, registers a decrease of 0.7% monthly subase and 0.6% on an annual basis (from -0.5% in the previous month).
The preliminary estimate was -0.5%.
The prices of the so-called shopping cart, which includes the prices of food, household and personal care, on the other hand, "accelerated slightly" in September, going from the previous + 0.9% to + 1.0%.
Among the cities, the highest inflation is recorded in Bolzano (+ 0.8%), Trento (+ 0.6%), Perugia (+ 0.4%) and then Naples (+ 0.2%), while the largest declines were recorded in Verona (-1.5%) and in Milan (-1.6%), while Rome recorded -1.1%.
Apart from the four plus cities and Ancona 'flat', all the others travel in negative territory.
