Molaverdi, vice president in the first government led by Hassan Rohani, from 2013 to 2017, was sentenced to two years for having 'undermined the security of the state' by transferring confidential documents abroad, as part of a collaboration with the United Nations Fund. for the population, and six months for 'propaganda against the system'.
In another case, the former vice president is accused of 'corruption, prostitution and sexual perversion' for her activities in support of women, including the fight against child brides and restrictions on women's sports activities.
