Just over half a year after filing for divorce from her husband James Hirdigan, actress Christina Richie has petitioned the court for a restraining order for domestic violence.

The request was approved by the court, in which Hirdigan must maintain a distance of at least 90 meters from Richie.

He was also banned from approaching the family dog and was denied his visitation rights with their six-year-old son Freddie.

Richie claimed to have been a victim of severe physical and mental violence on the part of Hirdigan, which began when she found out about her pregnancy in 2013, when many of the incidents occurred in front of their six-year-old son.

In a statement, Richie revealed details of a family vacation in New Zealand, in which, she said, Hardigan told her things that led her to believe he could kill her: "He said he would feel sorry for me only if they cut me to pieces," the petition filed in court.

"That night I hid all the knives in the hut where we were staying, for real fear for my life and my son's life. I slept with our son in a separate room with a locked door."

The statement also said that Hirdigan brutally assaulted her in December 2019. Months after that incident, the actress said she told her husband she wanted a divorce, and found herself stuck at home in the middle of quarantine with a man who physically and emotionally abused her when he knew she wanted to end the marriage.

Ritchie claims that from the moment the quarantine began, Hirdigan focused on punishing her and terrorizing her 24 hours a day, and that she was afraid to sleep at night.

In June, she said, Hirdigan chased her out of the house while trying to snatch her cellphone from her as she tried to call for help: "He grabbed my wrists, dragged me and slammed my body into the fireplace we have in the yard. I suffered cuts, bruises and bruises, and severe hip pain that lasted until Today, "she said in another statement. In another incident that also occurred in June, she revealed that Hirdigan chased her around the house, screamed, spat, threw a chair at her and poured coffee on her, all in front of their son.

The actress said she called the police and received an emergency restraining order against him.

The petition also states that she fears for their son's life and that Hirdigan continues to threaten to kidnap him.

In addition to the deportation order, she requested that the court issue an order prohibiting Hirdigan from returning to the home where he currently resides, as well as requiring him to take part in a violence treatment program.

Richie, 40, a nominee for the Golden Globe and Emmy Award, began her acting career as a child in the hit films "Mermaids" and "The Adams Family," and has continued to star over the years in a number of films, including "Caspar," "Sleepy Hollow." , "Monster" and more.

She has also appeared in numerous TV series, including "Parallel Eli," "Grey's Anatomy," "Malcolm in the Middle," "The Good Wife" and more.

A lawyer on behalf of Hirdigan told gossip site TMZ that his client flatly denies the charges against him, as he claimed occurred in 2020.
