(ANSA) - TUNIS, 01 MAR - The Tunisian association for Justice and Legality Damj, and the NGO "Intersection Association for Rights and Freedoms" today organized a protest sit-in before the Beb Bnet Court in Tunis, to ask for it release of LGBTQ activist and militant Rania Amdouni, who was arrested on February 27 when she went to a police barracks to denounce a campaign of threats and defamation against her "by the unions of the security forces and right-wing extremists".
According to what the two Tunisian NGOs report in a note, Ambouni is accused of "an attack on public morality", a crime for which today the prosecutor has issued a precautionary custody order today which led her to prison.
