The country has been among
the 15
for weeks
with the highest number of accumulated cases
since the beginning of the global health crisis.
This week, after having exceeded 2.2 million infected, it ranks 12th, according to the ranking produced by the Worldometer site.
President Alberto Fernández analyzed the health situation this Thursday in a videoconference with the governors of the entire country and the head of the Buenos Aires government, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta.
There they agreed to
strengthen border controls and discourage travel abroad

At dawn on Friday, meanwhile, a new shipment of the
Russian Sputnik V vaccine
will arrive in the country
on an Aerolineas Argentinas flight.
It has not yet been reported how many vaccines will arrive.
What has already been confirmed, at least in the city and province of Buenos Aires, is that these doses will all be used in older adults.
