In a press conference headed this Tuesday by the Minister of Health, Carla Vizzotti, the Government announced that in the last week
the number of departments at
"high
epidemiological
risk"
in the whole country
went
from 48 to 87
, going from 12 million people to more than
25 million
who live in this situation, in the framework of the second wave of coronavirus.
According to the study that the Federal Health Council (Cofesa) analyzed in its last meeting, 7 days ago there were 48 departments - with 12 million people - at "high risk" and currently that figure has risen to 87 departments.
Among them are the City of Buenos Aires and localities in the provinces of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Santa Fe, Mendoza, Tucumán, San Juan, Entre Ríos, Chaco, Tierra del Fuego, Misiones, Corrientes, San Luis, Formosa and Santiago del Estero , involving about 25 million people.
The indicators used to say that a department has "high risk" are the incidence of cases in the last 14 days, the number of cases per 100,000 inhabitants and the ratio of cases, that is, the cases of the last 2 weeks compared with cases in the previous 2 weeks.

"In Argentina we are immersed in a regional situation with an increase in the number of cases. We are going through a sustained growth of cases. In the last 3 weeks from one week to the next they increased 5%, then 11% and in the last week it was greater than 30%. In some regions such as the metropolitan area, 30% ", explained Vizzotti.
Meanwhile, according to the report, the provinces that do not have departments with a high rate of epidemiological risk for coronavirus are:
La Pampa, Neuquén, Río Negro, Santa Cruz, Jujuy, Salta, Catamarca and La Rioja
